Middle School, in ICS, includes grades six through eight. It offers a learning environment designed to meet the unique needs and interests of students at this age. It is a bridge between primary and secondary school where students move from thinking in concrete to more abstract thinking skills. The purpose of the Middle School experience is to help students acquire skills for future success in school and life, teaching them the necessary strategies for independent learning, helping them to be more responsible, providing them with a challenging curriculum that facilitates the transition to secondary school and reinforces the Christian values of ICS. Our curricular programs address academic excellence, the ability to respond to development, the development of character and relationship and the construction of the community. Our English curriculum is based on literature.
High School, in ICS, includes grades ninth through twelfth. As students continue their educational experience, we recognize the unique characteristics and needs of 21st century students and the importance of preparing for life outside of ICS, by developing skills to help them become successful adults and responsible members for our society. They develop skills for research, critical and creative thinking, communication, collaboration and self-management. In grades 9 and 10, students develop knowledge, skills and attitudes that will prepare them for the rigorous requirements of the IB Diploma. Students learn to build confidence and take charge of their own learning. In 11 and 12, students begin a rigorous academic challenge that seeks to develop students who are inquires, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, open minded, attentive, risk takers, balanced and reflective. Our curriculum prepares them for success in college. The English curriculum is based on literature. Our curriculum meets the requirements of the local Ministry of Education.
